Standards of precast concrete products

Precast concrete slabs, or ordinary concrete that is produced on site and placed on the building site, are made according to different standards. In the following, some valid standards for precast concrete products are introduced:

  1. ACI 318 standard: This standard was created by the “American Concrete Institute” and is used for the design and construction of concrete products in America. This standard includes regulations on bearing loads, calculations of structures and how to implement concrete products.
  2. EN 13369 standard: This standard was prepared by the “European Committee for Standardization” and is used for precast concrete products in Europe. This standard includes technical specifications, test methods and how to check the quality of concrete parts.
  3. BS 8500 standard: This standard was prepared by the “British Standards Institution” and is used for precast concrete parts in England. This standard includes requirements about concrete compositions, mechanical properties and quality control tests.
  4. CSA A23.4 standard: This standard was prepared by the “Canadian Standards Association” and is used for precast concrete parts in Canada. This standard includes requirements about the design and implementation of concrete components.

These standards are only a sample of the existing standards for precast concrete products. Any country and region are possible

have their own standards for precast concrete products. In addition to these national standards, there are other national and international standards for the construction and use of precast concrete products, which are used depending on the need and place of use.
